Terms of Service

These Terms govern your use of the GomiMate mobile application, gomimate.com, and related services operated by GomiMate.

By requesting access, creating an account, or otherwise accessing the Service, you confirm that you are at least 13 years old and agree to these Terms.

GomiMate is a garbage collection calendar application for Japan.

• Neighbourhood-specific schedules based on official municipal data.
• Push notification reminders before collection days.
• A guide to Japan's waste-sorting categories.
• A camera-based schedule import feature called Scan.
• The Service is provided as is. Municipal data may occasionally be delayed, changed, or incorrect.

GomiMate is currently in invite-only private beta. Access is complimentary during beta for invited users and subject to availability.

After beta, GomiMate may offer a standard plan and an optional GomiMate Plus subscription. We will give beta users at least 30 days' notice before access or pricing changes take effect.

• Do not use the Service for unlawful purposes.
• Do not reverse-engineer, decompile, or extract source code from the app.
• Do not scrape, crawl, or automate access to servers or municipal data feeds.
• Do not impersonate another person or misrepresent affiliation.
• Do not introduce malware or code that harms the Service or other users.
• Do not use the Service in a way that could damage, disable, or impair it.

Garbage schedules are sourced from official Japanese municipal open data. We update schedules regularly but cannot guarantee every schedule is current or error-free.

Collection days may change due to public holidays, severe weather, or municipal updates. Always check your local ward office's official website or physical collection notice if in doubt. GomiMate is a convenience tool and does not replace official municipal communications.

GomiMate, the logo, app design, and original content are owned by or licensed to GomiMate and protected by intellectual property laws.

Municipal schedule data comes from public government open data and is used under applicable open data licences. You receive a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to use the app for personal, non-commercial purposes.

Your use of GomiMate is also governed by our Privacy Policy, incorporated into these Terms by reference.

GomiMate may display advertisements supplied by Google and other third-party advertising partners on the public website. Advertising content is selected and delivered by those third parties under their own terms and privacy policies.

GomiMate does not endorse any advertiser, product, service, or claim merely because an advertisement appears on the website. Advertising formats, availability, and placement may change.

To the maximum extent permitted by law, GomiMate is provided as is without warranties of any kind, express or implied.

We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or virus-free. We are not responsible for loss or damage arising from incorrect schedule data, missed notifications, or reliance on the Service.

To the maximum extent permitted by law, GomiMate and its officers, directors, employees, and agents will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages.

Our total liability for any claim shall not exceed the amount you paid to GomiMate in the 12 months before the claim, or ¥1,000, whichever is greater.

You may stop using GomiMate at any time by deleting the app. GomiMate Plus subscriptions must be cancelled separately through the App Store or Google Play.

We may suspend or terminate access if you violate these Terms, with or without notice.

These Terms are governed by the laws of Japan. Disputes are subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the Tokyo District Court as the court of first instance, unless mandatory consumer protection laws in your country require otherwise.

We may update these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be announced by in-app notification or email at least 14 days before they take effect. Continued use after that date constitutes acceptance.
